BULLETIN FOR THE HISTORY OF CHEMISTRY
Volume 49, 2024
Seeman, Jeffrey I., “The Back Story: It's Really About People,” Bull. Hist. Chem., 2024, 49, 180.
Abstract/Description: All journal articles, patents, and books carry with them the names of the authors, researchers, and inventors.
Still, when we focus on the content of these publications, it is easy to forget that it's people who have done the hard work of thinking, researching, writing, and publishing. And it is real people who benefit from all of that. You may be thinking that I refer to the readers of those
publications. Yes, they—we—are the primary audience for those publications and discoveries. But we must also remember the universe of people who live far beyond our chemistry community but benefit individually from the achievements of chemists.
